The people of Shan State remain tied to the land and craft traditions. They use traditional organic methods while toiling the land. Native people weave silk from lotus flowers and make beautifully ornate traditional silver jewellery. Seemingly hidden from media and outside influences these hills and lakes house several small farming villages. We experienced a warm hospitality from peaceful community dwellers in Shan State.
